Online Application
It is not a requirement to submit a CV, but I did have the option to submit work experience and extracurriculars. You can also expect basic motivational question tied to this stage. They offered 3 choices for the type of spring week preference. My advice is not to be intimidated to apply to programs that you think are not suited for you, as this might increase your chances of getting your foot in the door.
How to respond for success
I think that my application stood out because I displayed a proven interest in working in the financial industry through my extracurriculars as I was the president of the Accounting and Finance club at my university. I was able to provide many relevant examples.
Expect a up to a 1 week wait before advancing to the next stage.
Psychometric tests
The online assessment comprised of 2 elements. Firstly was a psychometric test that included situational judgement type questions along with some numerical questions. Please note there was no timer. This assessment is very simple, but pay extra attention to your answers in the numerical section because there are important details that are very easy to oversee. The second assessment is called the 'Job Simulation', and includes a combination of SJT, numerical and video response questions, together with a “compose an email to a senior colleague” exercise. This part of the assessment was timed you have roughly 1 hour to complete it.
Example
“How would you present yourself to a senior colleague” Additionally, expect typical questions such as “why Deloitte?”.
How to respond for success
I did my due diligence on the company beforehand, so I had a good 'Why Deloitte' answer. I also tried my best to appear composed and confident when answering. However for this question I highly recommend personalising your answer by networking with current employees or company alumni and stating why it appeals to you after you’ve had these discussions. I gave a structured answer by using the STAR method (situation task action result)
